who can submit?
- Anyone aged 18 or under is welcome to submit.
- If a writer is aged 12 or under, a parent or guardian must give permission for publication.
what to submit?
- Please submit up to 6,000 words of prose and/or up to 6 poems in a single Word (.docx or .doc) document.
themes
- The audience of the newsletter will generally encompass (but is not limited to) readers aged 8-18.
- We encourage you to speak honestly and thoughtfully. To ensure that readers are informed, we ask that contributors include content warnings at the beginning of their piece(s) if their work contains mature or potentially triggering themes (ex. “This poem contains themes of grief.”) or expletives.
- Mild expletives will only be considered if they contribute meaningfully to a work.
- Hateful or demeaning language will not be accepted and will result in exclusion from future submission.
- We reserve the right to add or revise trigger warnings during the editorial process and to determine if a work aligns with our values and audience.

rights and usage
- We require non-exclusive archival rights: you retain all rights and ownership to your work and can publish it elsewhere at any time, but we reserve the right to archive your work on our website.
- We may use your work for promotional purposes on social media; please let us know at the time of submission if you would not like your work to be used in this way.
response time
- We will generally respond to your submission within a week, but we ask that you be patient with us if a response takes slightly longer!
